"நான் அய்யங்காரு, தென்மேற்குக் கலை! அதனால எனக்கு மூளை வளர்ச்சி கம்மி! அதனால நான் ரொம்ப "proud of being a pArppAn" என்று சொன்னாராம்! I really don't understand why the interviewer has to ask this question?? He seems like a BIGGER idiot than this candidate!
Here he is ADVERTISING his identity! And that he is SO PROUD of being a whatever he is! But he is pretending like he is NOT hiding and that he is HONEST in answering a question! That question is no way connected to his qualifications whatever job he applied for! I don't see any reason for revealing that with a story in the internet discussion forum unless you are a casteist bastard!

பொதுவா வெள்ளக்காரனிடம், நான் இந்தியாவில் உயர்ந்த சாதியைச் சார்ந்தவன். நான் கடவுளுக்கு ரொம்ப க்ளோஸ்னு எந்தப்பார்ப்பானாவது சொன்னால், How did you guys discover the caste system? Don't you think that is SO UNNECESSARY and ABSURD now? னுதான் சொல்லிச் சிரிப்பார்கள். பெருமையாச் சொல்ல எதுவும் இல்லைனா, சாதியைச் சொல்லி நான் உயர்ந்தவன்னு சொல்லிக்கொண்டு அலையனுமா என்ன?

பார்பனியம் என்பது அநீதியை அடிப்படையாக கொண்டு உள்ளது. இதை எதோ உயர்ந்த தத்துவம் போல கற்பித்து அதில் வெற்றி பெற்றனர். அதை இன்றும் பெரிய உலக தத்துவம் என்று சொல்லி கொள்வது பூனை கண்ணை முடி கொண்டது போன்றது. எதோ சில மந்திரங்களை மனப்பாடம் பண்ணி விட்டு உழைப்பை கேவலபடுத்தி, சமுதாயத்தை பிரித்து விட்டனர். அவர்கள் கூட்டத்துக்கு பிரச்சினை என்றால் உலகத்துக்கே அழிவு என்பது போல் பெரிதாகும். மருத்துவம் படிக்க சமஸ்கிருதம் வேண்டும் என்று அடாவடி செய்த விஷயம் இவர்களின் அநீதிக்கு ஒரு சான்று. அறிவியல் வளர்துள்ள இந்த உலகில், கல்லை கட்டி கொண்டு அழுவதால் எந்த பிரச்சினையாவது தீருமா ? இந்த அவலங்களை மற்ற தமிழர் கடைபிடித்து தன்னை பார்பனாக காட்டி கொள்வது இன்னும் சோகம்.

Just don't agree with what I see above, it's not their (the ones that don’t care about casts) job to go and educate others. If a person like the one mentioned here acts arrogant and ridiculous, then he/she deserves to be ridiculed- there is nothing anybody can do about that.

It irritates me when someone who got benefited by the caste system saying "I am proud of being a brahmin"!
Yes, it is unavoidable to lose some "bloggers" and "friends" when I want to say, somethng which bothers me so much that IT IS WRONG in my own way! There is always price for anything you do. There is no best way to address this issue.

Nope, Kayal, they are afraid because they know people will look down on them for being born in that caste. You cant expect them to have the confidence you and I have. People do look down on them -saying you are such and such or belong to a "lower caste"! So I would not blame them for having such an "inferiority complex". I would rather blame the caste system in the hinduism!

ஒருமுறை ஜெயகாந்தன் பாரதீய ஞான பீடப் பரிசு பெற்றார். அப்போ அவர், கேவலமா ஒரு ஸ்டேட்மெண்ட் விட்டார். அது என்னனா, நான் ஒரு சைவ வெள்ளாளர், இதற்கு முன்னால் பெற்ற அகிலனும் சைவ வெள்ளாளர்னு.
எல்லோருக்கும் பயங்கர எரிச்சலும் கோபமும் வந்தது. இவர் இப்படி பேசியதை யாருமே ரசிக்கவில்லை.
என்ன ஜாதிவெறி இந்த ஆளுக்குனுதான் எல்லோருமே திட்டினோம்!

He says he went for an interview. Is there any reason to bring up caste there?!
The interviewer should have been fired for asking such question. The candidate should have asked, "why do you want to know? That has nothing to do with the "job" I have applied for!
It is so unnecessary tobringup caste here. I believe post like this will help not asking such questions in the future. It is a way of educationg at least a few that this is not how you donduct an interview!

ReplyDeleteI have not got into the caste-issue for a LONG TIME.
When nidhyanadha was caught, I was mostly criticising charu and jeyamohan.
Then that post came out. That post was outrageous! There is nothing wrong in criticising EVR esp only who got affected. But one should not justify nidhyaanadha by comparing with periyar. That is venomous!
Well, I had to respond to that just like I respond to any outrageous posts.I did.
Then I started doing little research on this "honorable blogger" and his qualities and got shocked to learn that he is a casteist!
Kayal and I never revealed our castes on purpose. It is something I dont want to disclose in the blog world.
That "interview matter" really bothered me a lot. The reason is that one of my friends had been asked the same question in an interview. He said, "I would not answer that question as it is irrelevant to this job". He was offered the job too.
I would expect such a decency with educated people. When it is not there, I had to discuss about this and show my feelings about it. It does not matter anybody agrees with me or not. This blog is forsharing our thoughts!

When starting a discussion like this I think it is very important to control your impulse and put decent words along with your argument to promote a good discussion which you have failed.Instead you have equally fought a verbal war with masked men.It is not going to take the subject nowhere instead it will create a ill feeling and bad opinion among bloggers which we are contributing till the present.
The masked comments shows that even your point is right there a supportive argument against your views.
To my knowledge bloggers knows what is what and still they ignored the bad elements of a person and thamilmanam too allow it is a part of a blogging world.A demon exist in our society which we cannot eliminate it till today.The simple reason is that the approach doesn't work out.
If your subject thinks that a second with his own conscience to himself of his uttered words are wrong,that will be the achievement of your writing even with your equally bad mouth.I thought you are going to focus on movies because it pull a lot of crowd:)

In my post int he quoted text "the Raghavan" is a third person who made a statement. I dont know who he is. I just think of him a third person and write. It could be some "fake raghavan" or "pOli raghavan" too who wanted to defame someone. I dont know. That is the reason I did not respect that raghavan. I am pretty serious here. That is how I imagine that character. It is not brought from any blog. Somewhere from the internet trash. So, dont misunderstand that! I would certainly respect a fellow blogger.

Honestly, you know what I think? it is non-brahmins and anti-brahmins who make brahmins look great and superior.
இதுபோல் திமிர் எல்லோருக்குக்கும் உண்டு, பார்ப்பனருக்கு மட்டும்தான் உண்டு என்பது சுத்தமான அபத்தம்! :)
I mean defining such qualities as "paarppana thimir" is absurd! They are "overcrediting" "paarpanar" by doing so :)

I am an Iyengar. I dont need to hide my caste. னு சொல்லியிருந்தால் தப்பே இல்லை!
That is not what this Raghavan has said. I repeat, there is nothing to e proud of or ashamed of born in some community. You are no way responsible or control this!
I have had Iyengar and Iyer colleagues at my work now and then. Just because they were from brahmin caste, I did not find anything superior than me. They were just like anybody.

It is impolite and rude and "insane" to advertise your caste. Only cheap minds will advertise their caste!
This statement is absurd if and only if Raghavan did not clain that he is proud to be an iyengar!
