"Yes the antibodies are proteins they can bind on the epitope of pathogens (virus/bacteria). They usually present in the surface of the B cells (an  immune cell).

 

 

 

 

 

"So How do we make the antibodies?"

"You need to trigger the B-cell to make antibodies. That is what the vaccine is all about"

"How are we going to trigger, Caro?" 

"We will deliver a messenger RNA  which can get translated to the spike protein (epitope) by using nanoparticle-vehicle but these spike proteins which will be made from mRNA are not on the virus. We do not provide the virus itself, we only provide the ingredients (mRNA) to make spike protein (epitope) and so it is harmless to our body.Once B cells in our body recognize the spike protein, it would like to get rid of the spike protein, who is a "foreigner". So it will make an antibody for targeting the spike protein and it will be placed on the surface of the B-cell. Now, the spike protein will come and bind on the antibody. and B-cell will find a way to get rid of that spike protein"

 

"So, now our B-cells are able to recognize the spike protein which is on Virus?"

"Exactly. B-cells with the help of helper T-cells will make the antibodies for the spike protein and will be waiting for more spike protein to come and bind on them. Now if the virus enters our body and tries to invade our cells using the spike protein (the epitope) bidning, it will be killed by our immune B cells"

 

 

"So the vaccine is just m-RNA of spike protein?"

"The mRNA will be supplied as such or it will be incorporated in some cells?"
