Earlier, singer Chinmayi levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against Tamil poet Vairamuthu at a music concert held in Switzerland. She also claimed that the organiser of the event approached her with an indecent proposal from the lyricist.
Apparently, he told her to go visit Vairamuthu in his hotel room. When she asked why, he told her to co-operate, she refused and demanded to be sent back to India. Later, Chinmayi tweeted, that the lyricist threatened her with harsh consequences, when she refused to perform at his event.
Now, the organiser of the event has condemned the singer's allegations and said that the Tamils all over the world are extremely angry at the baseless allegations against the lyricist.
Suresh, the organiser of Veezhamattom, an album launch organised by Sri Lankan Tamils in Switzerland, broke his silence on Thursday. In a video response shared from Switzerland, Suresh said Chinmayi and her mother stayed in his house with his family and there was no way that her claims were true.
"The concert took place on a Sunday. After the concert ended, Vairamuthu went to his hotel. Chinmayi and her mother came with us to our house. While Vairamuthu left on Monday, Chinmayi and her mother left a week later," he said.
He added that it is extremely difficult to meet Vairamuthu, whenever he comes to Switzerland as the poet prefers to be alone and comes to the country to enjoy
the scenery.
Suresh further cautioned the singer to exercise restraint in leveling false accusations against Vairamuthu. "A person like Vairamuthu, who is looked upon as the torchbearer of Tamil community, can tide over these false accusations. But the Tamil community is very angry and we request her to stop the false accusations."
