ப்ரசில் நாட்டில் இப்போ இருப்பதுபோல், இந்தியாவில் ரெண்டாவது கொரோனா வைரஸ் தாக்குதல் ஆரம்பிக்கும் என்பதில் எந்த சந்தேகமும் இல்லை. இதுபோல் ஒரு சூழலில் இவர் ஹைதரபாத்ல போயி அண்ணாத்தே படப்பிடிப்பை தொடருகிறாராம். எவன் ஐடியானு தெரியலை!  ரஜினிகாந்த் "ப்ரி எக்சிஸ்டிங்க்" கண்ட்டிஷனில் இருப்பவர். கொரோனா தாக்கினால் உயிர் பிழைப்பது கஷ்டம். இதுபோல் ஒரு சூழலில் தேவையே இல்லாமல் ஹைதராபாத் போனது மிகப் பெரிய முட்டாள்த்தனம்.

"I dont think you are positive. In any case I am O positive, even if I get it from you, I will have mild symptoms only"

"The fluid in your nose will have some virus if you are infected. They test for the presence of the virus"

"How would they spot the virus?"

"If you have virus in your nasal fluid, you will have viral genome, or viral RNA genome in this case. They break the virus cell membrane by using some buffer called lysis buffer and extract the viral RNA out. The viral RNA, will be converted to corresponding DNA by an enzyme called reverse transcriptase"

"Why can not they multiply or amplify the RNA itself?" 

"As you know, dealing with DNA is much easier than RNA because the latter is highly unstable. So they usually convert the viral RNA to corresponding viral DNA, now they use real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to make several million copies of the DNA in the lab, which you have only tiny amount from your nasal sample"

"RT-PCR? Dont they use the same thing for analyzing suspects DNA in a crime scene blood or hair?"

"Yes, you need to make more of DNA to analyze anything. So they will carry out this polymerase chain reaction to amplify the DNA sample for different studies. It became very routine"

"Then what?"

"One can analyze this DNA as you have a decent amount for analysis, and compare that with authentic DNA made from the Covid-19 as a standard. Now they compare whether both DNA are same. If they are the same, then you are Covid-19 positive"
